Tim Hawman was born and raised in northern Ontario. He discovered the beauty and solitude of the wilderness. Remote forests were a place to escape to and discover the mystery of the untouched land.
He studied Fine Art for four years at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto, then went on to graduate from Bible College in Eastern Canada. Theology and art have come together in Tim’s paintings through turning
the viewers attention to the wonder, mystery and glory of our created world.
He has been captivated over the years with the beauty of creation and how it reflects the glory of its Creator.
“I firmly believe we are lessened in some way as human beings when we lose touch with the land.”
Tim wants his art to remind us that the created order bears witness to the greater reality of life outside of ourselves. A realization that we are not ultimately in control, that the universe in all its glory does not revolve around us. We are stewards of its beauty, and participants in a symphony of colour and light and movement directed by The Creator, that will one day finds its culmination in a redeemed earth.
